Robin Williams

He was one of a kind. He arrived in our lives as an alien but he ended up touching every element of the human spirit

Robin Williams was a respected actor, comedian, producer and screenwriter. With his sudden death it has brought the whole country into mourning. Losing such an iconic, unique artist has been devastating for his loved ones as well as his fans. Robin touched so many lives through his variety of astonishing work. From Good morning Vietnam to Aladdin, Robin Williams will always be in our lives as these films will never die.

Robin was nominated for several awards throughout his career and was highly recognised for his work within the industry. He has been so present in all our lives for almost 40 years making us laugh in everything he did. He was a creator just as much as a performer which shone through within his work and through to his fellow colleagues. Every actor Robin worked with has nothing but good things to say and the regret they felt for not realising the honour of working with him.

Mrs Doubtfire star, Mara Wilson who played his youngest daughter says “Robin would do anything to make me and the other kids laugh.” His warm, gentle, nurturing and brilliant mind shone throughout his career continuously making his audience laugh. There are so many people who will miss Robin and so many overwhelming kind words that have to be said about him. He will continue to inspire others who knew him and loved him. Others who loved his films and comedy since their childhood will continue to love his work forever and pass it on to younger generations. It’s remarkable to see how many lives Robin touched. His light will shine in us forever.

Every time you saw him – on television, in movies, nightclubs, arenas, hospitals, homeless shelters, for our troops overseas, and even in a dying girl’s living room, for her last wish – he made us laugh. Big time – Billy Crystal
