Back to School – Bye Bye Summertime

Learn as much as you can while you are young, since life becomes too busy later

With September nearing, the back to school period is upon us. Students all over the country are getting ready to move away from home, children’s uniforms and pencil cases are being bought, it’s time to screw on our sensible heads and get motivated. As well as all the students, with summer coming to a close, it’s time to reflect on the past year and make the changes you might need to change. Setting yourself goals and bringing structure back in to your life is the key to success!

New beginnings are always going to seem daunting, but new goals, new hobbies, new friendships are definitely exciting. It’s about finding that balance between working hard as well as keeping a fun, social life for yourself. Pushing yourself to work your hardest can become difficult, but it will pay off and you will be rewarded. It’s all about putting things into perspective about what’s really important to you. Identifying your goals and the rewards you hope to get in the future will help to motivate you to commit yourself to working hard now.

It can be difficult to focus on studying when your mobile’s going, your friends want to meet up and on top of that you have a killer, boring assignment to do for next week. If you strategically think in advance, you’re more likely to hand in work on time and give yourself time to socialise. You won’t feel motivated if you study all the time. This is why fixing times to study give you time for leisure. Working hard is such a significant commitment, whether it’s for a degree or a full-time job. At the end of the day, you know how hard you’re working. Value your studies and value yourself. Work hard to get places and give yourself time to do your best.

If you really believe in what you’re doing, work hard, take nothing personally and if something blocks one route, find another. Never give up.
